Finding Love and Adventure at 65: How Jacqui and Select Connections Made It Happen

Writer: Jacqui BakerJacqui Baker

When it comes to finding love later in life, hearing from someone who has walked the path can be incredibly reassuring.

Recently, I received a heartfelt testimonial from a client, Jane (name changed for privacy), who shared her journey with Select Connections. I believe her story speaks directly to many of the challenges and hopes that older singles face, so I’d like to share it with you in her own words.

"I heard of Jacqui through a friend who had successfully engaged with Select Connections. I was at a crossroads in my life having lost a partner through cancer. Over time I realised that although I had a good life, family and friends, I wanted to be in a relationship - at the age of 65 I still wanted fun and adventure and someone special to share my life with. I was reluctant to do online dating as I considered it high risk.

Jacqui took time to understand my personality, values and interests and she helped manage the risk. It’s reassuring to know she has met with each client and as far as possible has verified we are who we say we are!

She introduced me to several potential partners and for each one I could see her logic - each and every one had something to offer. She helped manage the meetings and gave honest feedback after each one - which was needed in my case!

This has paid off and I am now in a fulfilling and fun relationship with a man who holds similar values and ambitions. So far so good and I’m very hopeful for the future thanks to Jacqui and her team.

Understanding the Journey:

Jane’s story is one that many people can relate to. Losing a partner and then realising that, despite a fulfilling life, there’s still a longing for companionship can be an emotional and difficult journey. The thought of starting over, especially with online dating, can feel daunting and risky.

Our Personalised Approach: What helped Jane overcome these challenges was our personalised approach. I took the time to understand her personality, values, and interests, ensuring that any potential match would be carefully considered. For those who feel hesitant about online dating or uncertain about the quality of potential partners, this level of personal attention can make all the difference.

Managing Safety and Risk: Jane’s concern about the risks of online dating is something we hear often, especially from older singles. At Select Connections, we prioritise safety by meeting and verifying all our clients. This reassured Jane that she was engaging with genuine people, and it’s a step that many find comforting when re-entering the dating scene.

Ongoing Support: Finally, the support doesn’t stop at the introductions. I worked closely with Jane, offering feedback and guidance after each meeting. This ongoing support helps navigate the sometimes tricky waters of new relationships, ensuring that our clients feel confident and supported throughout the process.

For many older singles, feelings of rejection, concerns about safety, and wondering if love is still possible can feel overwhelming. Jane’s story gently reminds us that these emotions are completely normal. They don’t have to hold you back from finding happiness.

We’re here to offer support and understanding, helping you navigate these challenges with care and compassion.

If you see yourself in Jane’s story and are ready to explore new possibilities for love and companionship, I invite you to reach out. Let’s discuss how Select Connections can help you find your special someone.
